Auliya Wilson was born and raised on the Gulf Islands off of Vancouver, BC Canada.  She always had a passion for color and anything creative, dabbling in music and guitar, classical singing, poetry, songwriting, and drawing in multiple medias.

Michael Wilson was born and raised on the East Coast of Canada, close to Grand Bay, NB.  He spent many cold nights by the fire enjoying the discovery of PC video games, and often played music with his best bud.  They eventually decided to  move to Vancouver BC together, and while his friend eventually returned to New Brunswick for schooling, Michael found himself living on Vancouver Island, where Auliya and he met at an open mic night in 2012.  They fast became inseparable and started playing music together forming the Auliya Vicious Band and playing many sold out shows, including opening for Holly McNarland and Sean Verreault of Wide Mouth Mason.

They eventually married in 2017 and due to health complications stopped performing music publicly. However, they still enjoyed finding any excuse to be together, and during COVID-19 lock down really put this to the test. This forced time together only strengthened their bond, and it was also during this time Auliya started to paint, discovering a long time feared task was actually a passion and came with ease to her. She is currently working to put together enough paintings to have her own display show some day, you can find a gallery of her paintings in our Paintings Gallery.

In 2023, Michael finally completed a many years goal of obtaining a nice Mini3 video capture drone and quickly became adept at learning how to use it.  He discovered a hidden talent in himself of not only piloting a videography drone, but also utilizing editing software to create stunning and professional grade scenic videos. At this time, Auliya also obtained her Nikon D7000 camera to take photos to paint, and discovered another hidden talent herself of taking artistic photographs.  With this, VI Horizons - Drones and Photography was born.
